I have never been able to get chili dogs chili exactly right according to my husband. I’d get “it’s fine” or “it’s good but…” This recipe is worth every minute and then some. It freezes beautifully, so I make big batches. Now I have the best chili dogs in town according to “the expert”, haha.

If you add up all of the chili powder ingredients, I counted 12.5 teaspoons, which should be 1/4 cup plus one half teaspoon. Although I could make this myself, I was gifted a large amount of chili powder recently.

I made this recipe for dinner tonight along with some Cajun potato salad. I used my slow cooker to make the chili sauce. Turned out great!
